Hon Richd. Yates

Dear Sir: Yours of the 6th inst. was duly rec'd.

Herewith I send you a list of names as you request. I think you will find them all good, reliable union men.

We having nothing new in this origin to communicate. We are, I am happy to say, sound on the Union, cause furnishing the Govt a goodly supply of volunteers. I believe our County is the banner County of the State. - having given more men to the Country, in this war, than any other Co. in the state, in proportion to our population. We rejoice that we have done our duty

Yours truly John S. Thompson
