Know ye, That Diedrick Northrup a Private of Captain Matthew Jansens Company, (A,) 24th Regiment of Illinois Infantry VOLUNTEERS who was enrolled on the Twenty eighth day of August one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one to serve three years or during the war, is hereby Discharged from the service of the United States, the 20th day of September, 1864, at Springfield Illinois by reason of expiration of terms of service (No objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist.*) Said Diedrick Northrup was born in [Huerup?] in the State of Hanover , is Twenty five years of age, five feet ten inches high, light complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, and by occupation, when enrolled, a Farmer Given at Springfield Illinois this 20th day of September 1864.
