Gov Richd. Yates

Springfield, Ills.

Sir;

In answer to your note of the 10th inst. I have to state the 6000 stand of arms, to which you refer, are ordered to be recalled from the Home Guard of Phila, and to be sent to you, with accoutrements and ammunition, as soon as returned from Philadelphia. This order was given on the 9th instant. The fourteen batteries of artillery were contracted for, as you suggested; according to which contract the first two batteries, complete for service in the field, are to be delivered on or before the 1st Novr., and two complete batteries, per week, thereafter, until the whole fifteen are delivered.

Respectfully
