Hon. Lyman Trumbull

Washington D.C.

All the hurrying has been done which can be done. We have fourteen regiments and cannot furnish more - It is a busy time - with farmers, The Copperheads openly oppose, The Germans are dissatisfied & have not responded with a single company to this call - no more volunteering can be done in Illinois till other states come up to her. I have had more labor to raise the 100 day now than upon any former call
