I find that I have in my [illegible] then written the date wrong. the fair will commence on Wednesday the 5th of Oct and if you leave Decatur the [6?] you will be in time I have written you all the particulars of the trip and will only say that our candidates for Representative, Mr. Clay and Watt are both most anxious for you to come. of course they will be for you for the Senate against the world or they cant come back here. the ellection is going to be very close here. Randolph is terribly Copperhead. I hope you will help Indiana after you get Illinois safe as ever.
