His Excellency

Governor Yates,

My dear Sir,

Did you get the slip of an article I wrote concerning you for the Journal, and enclosed to you in a letter? Can I do any thing for you in the writing line? The article I speak of was pretty extensively copied in the local papers. If you could suggest any thing which I could do to serve you believe me that I should do it gladly. I hope you are well & I wish you a prosperous deliverance in the forthcoming political struggle

Kindest & Most Respectful regards to Gov. Y. & your family.

Always Yours right truly

Geo S Phillips
