Gov. Yates,

Dear Sir,

Yours of a late note accompanying package of documents was only recd, had the documents distributed.

In regard to the subject upon which you probably desire to hear from me, about all I can now say is, that I have not yet decided who I ought to support. I am not in the secrets of any of the factions, nor in their interest. I will however try to act for the best interest of the State, when the time arrives.
