Hon. Richard Yates

Dear Sir

We as old friends feel proud of having the opportunity to congratulate you for the faithful and able manner in which you have for the past four years, filled the gubernatorial chair of this great state in which you have won undying honors for yourself and posterity.

We are much pleased that the good people of this great state through their representatives, have appreciated your worth by makeing you a United States Senator: thus placing you where your ever watchful eye and untireing energy will not cease to look after the welfare of the people
