Sir;
The 14th Batteries, referred to in your telegram of the 12th inst., were contracted for to be delivered, the first two batteries by the 1st November, and two batteries per week thereafter till the whole 14 were delivered. The time for the delivery of the first two batteries was extended, at your instance, to the 10th Novr. Under this agreement, Mr Penfield has, probably, delivered the first two batteries by this time, and the others should follow rapidly.
