Adjt Ellington of 25th Ills Voll. thinks that with your assistance, he can get three companies from Missouri. I have now [won?] 7 company & by the time he can effect what may be done in Mo I will have the 7 complete at least 7 above the New increase. You know how anxious I am to get away from here in fact I must go to war & [illegible] my men in some shape. Adjt Ellington wants the position


of Lieut Col. I dont know much about him but under the circumstances unless you know of some special objection to him we had better [make?] the arrangement. He appears to be a getleman I write the news I have I think I can manage him if he needs any management.
