Dear Sir I take my pen in hand to write you a few lines hoping that you will tend to some matters here Dear sir we have Been living on nothing But musty crackers and coffe for the last month and we are all getting sick the men are Dying every day one thing I have to request of you is A Bout our pay there is some men here that has Drawn [01?] or $18 more than the others and the have Enlisted the same time Deare sir I have Been in


the servis 2 months 20 Days and I have not got onley 19 Dollars and 50. cents

Deare sir we request of you to have us something to eate or we cannot stand it Your Most obedient Servint
