Dear Sir
I have just seen by your Genl Order No 250 of Dec 23, that the reorganization of the 1st Ill. Cavalry has been authorized by the War Department. I have not the Data to enable me to furnish you the information requested by your order, but presume it will be furnished by the Company Officers. Will you please furnish me a copy of the order from the Department, relative to the filling up of this regiment. In the mean time any [letters?] will reach me at this place.
