Description

A double-sided advertisement for Joseph B. Purdy uses Ulysses S. Grant's likeness. The writing at the bottom of the advertisement reads, "'I propose to fight it out on this line if it takes all summer.' Joseph B. Purdy, Fire-Works, Flags, Lanterns, Balloons, &c., Nos. 32 & 34 Maiden Lane, New York. Established 1843."

An unidentified gentleman wearing a hat is pictured on the verso, and the writing at the bottom reads, "'What I know about Politics.' Joseph B. Purdy, Campaign Goods of Every Description!"
