Hon. M. E. Worrell

Quincy Ills.

Dear Sir;

I consider the duties of your office highly important, and am glad to see by yours of the 14th inst. that you take a proper interest in the matter. I hope you will enter upon the discharge of your duties at once, as no time ought to be lost. As to pay - I will recommend the legislature to make liberal provisions, and have no doubt it will be done.

Please to communicate the contents of this to Mr. Ellsworth at Chicago, asap

Yours Truly,

Richd. Yates

Gov. of Ills.
