Dear Governor

I am very anxious to go to Gen Curtis Army now at Helena Arkansas. I wish that you would send me down there. You will remember that you spoke of a requisition for regimental flags and said that if such requisition should be sent in you would send me with them. Now I wish to go immediately. Please to write as soon as you get this. If you can send me down there for the above or any other purpose please to send forms so that I can get to Springfield. I have pass from here to Quincy. All I would want to get to S would be pass from Quincy to Springfield. The requisition for flag s was sent in long ago. Please to answer immediately Truly yours
