I understand visits Springfield with a view to take Service in the military Department He is an old citizen of this county - a gentleman of high character - possessed of energy and ability, and not without experience in military affairs Any favor you confer, or any position you may assign him would be worthily bestowed, and a source of gratification to your personal friends and the friends of the Government in this section.
