Hon. Richard Yates

Dr Sir

I beg leave to introduce to you our townsman Samuel McCreary Esqr., a gentleman who has filled several offices of trust by the election of the people, and has discharged the duties thereof with credit and honour to himself. He visits Springfield with the purpose of offering his services to the government in some useful capac= ity, and his practical talents would [doubtlessly] enable him to render good service in this time of our country's need.

Respectfully your obt. sert.

Thomas Munroe
