I take the liberty of recommending Lieut. Col. William Camm now of the 14th Illinois for the commission of Colonel in some one of the new Regiments or in the 15th Illinois should Col. Turner be dropped.

I know him to be a most effective officer, thoroughly competent and deserving. His present position is disagreeable because of personal difficulties among the officers. Hoping that this may receive some consideration from the Executive
