I beg leave to recommend the appointment of J.S. Murphy of Decatur for a Regimental Quartermaster. Mr. M. has lived long in my district and I take pleasure in recommending him as a gentleman of character and responsibility, who I have no doubt will fill the position in a highly satisfactory manner.
