Gov. Yates

Springfield Illinois

Dear Sir

There are now a number or full companies organized in this county, but still at home waiting orders. A full regiment can be arranged at once and should be lest the men scatter. Some person should be appointed Colonel to perfect an organization at once.

We recommend Harrison Dills of this city. He has executive capacity and is popular.

Yours Respectfully

Jackson Grimshaw

Archibald Williams

I earnestly recommend the appointment of Mr Dills as Colonel. I think it would be an excellent and acceptable thing

O.H. Browning

I concur in the above
