Geo. W. Foote, M.D.

Dear Dr;

Your letter is just recd and I mail you an immediate reply. A friend of mine, an excellent Homeopath, fitted himself for an Examination, got his recommendation from Gov. Yates, waited six weeks for his turn to come on the list of Candidates to come before the Med. Board, & a few days prior to his expected examination recd a letter from Dr H. L. Johnson of this city, Chairman of the Examining Board, stating that "it would be useless for him to apply, for no matter what his qualification the Board had resolved not to recommend an Homeopathist." The same thing was tried last week with another Candidate with the same result. It would be of no possible service for you to apply &

I recommend you not to permit yourself to be disgraced by these unprincipled men who are now, but will not always remain in power.

Very Respectfully

R. [Ludlam?]
