I have a Cousin in the 11th Mo Reg who is very anxious to get in an Illinois Regt and as this is his native State and he has been in the army one year he well deserves to be promoted and you will pleas do so if possible and let me tell you thare is not a braver better or handsomer or larger man in the service then he is and do now promote him if you can and I know you can if you will for you have the power if not who has
