Dear Governor.
I want to go to Springfield to attend the Convention on Wednesday next. I have not yet concluded whether to go as a delegate or not, owing to some complications in our political machinery at home. At any rate I intend to go down and have much to say to you in regard to your personal interests. Will you send me passes. The editor of the Journal said to me a few minutes ago that he was going to [overhaul?] you in regard to what you say in regard to a specific policy in your last Proclamation. So look out for squalls
I remain very truly
Your friend,
S.M. Willson
