Doct. Charles N. Ellinwood has passed the medical Board of examiners as you are probably aware by this time, and is ready for Service. Will you please have his appointment as Surgeon to the 44 Regiment made out as soon as convenit and agreeable for the governor to do so.

Can you furnish him transportation to where the regiment is located? Respectfully yours
