Francis A Hoffmann Esqr,

Dear Sir

Pardon my trespassing on your valuable time for a few moments but knowing your generous heart with the ever [hoely?] interest you have taken in the welfare of my family induces me to Inveite your interest in obtaining for me if possible a situation as copyist. Knowing well that the comeing winter will be one of trial and simplicity (my income being small) it behoves me to prepare without delay. I shall have no objection to accept even a situation in Springfield as my Daughter is fully competant to take charge of my Household duties during my absence. Trusting Dear Sir your [full?] pardon the liberty of placeing you to so much trouble

Yrs Respectfully,

Emma J. Blackford
