The length of time which Mr. Jenkin Barron of Co H 28th Regt. Ills Vol has been in the Hospital, induces me to write you and ascertain if I can why he can not obtain a discharge. What condition he is in, an what prospect there is of his being able to return to the army. I am now situated so as to know that he has been in Hospital as much as nine months, his wife is anxious to obtain his release and we want to do something if possible to obtain his discharge. Government is being fleeced of millions by disabled Soldiers remaining under pay who should be sent home Please write me. H S. Thomas PM
Respectfully returned. As I have not the pleasure of Mr Thomas acquaintance he will in the future please, confine his remarks on the subject of disabled soldiers to the circle of his own acquaintances.
