To the Right Honerable Governor Yates
With the feeling of humanity you have always shown to the Soilders I thought I would appeal to your kindness as the Wife of Mr W C Morse his trying to get his Discharge having failed through the malice of a Comrad in Nashville, the Doctors say he never Will be
be able to able to do servise Again they tell him he has the spine Disease and Consumption it is five months since he has been able to do duty and never being in good helth it is more than his Constitution can bear and hopeing you will befriend him one of your soildiers and his family by ordering his Discharge of you can do so and be in Compliance with the Government he belongs to the 100 Illinois Volunteers Company H.
