Permit me to introduce to your acquaintance Col. Stockton, a gentleman, and a soldier, by education & practice. He has been authorized by Gov. Johnson of Tennessee to raise troops for the maintenance of our position in Tennesse - He is a fit man to command troops & in organizing, as well as raising his force he may desire your counsel and aid -
