To His Excellency Richard Yates
Governor of the State of Illinois
Your petitioners would respectfully request that your Excellency would grant to Horace Sargent, private in Company "A" 94th Regt. Infantry Volunteers, now sick in the "Berry" hospital at Springfield Mo a release from the military service, as he is now lying sick at said Hospital without any immediate prospect of recovery, and the only possibility of recovery would by by a release from the Hospital and the attention he could receive at home.
