Lincoln Ills. Septr 14/63
To his Excellency
Richd. Yates.
Governor. Doctor J.H. Bridly (a friend of mine) now down at Memphis for the purpose of procuring some kind of a situation in our army I would recommend to your favorable consideration and say to you that he has, here at his home, a good reputation as a physician, Citizen, - and also as a County Officer. He is true to the Old Flag; but not robust in size or constitution and deserves some lucrative situation that would not require too large
a degree of physical strength.
Trusting sir, that you may look favourably on whatever he may be aspiring for in this our trying hour, I remain
dear Governor
Your Obedient Servant,
G W Tinley
