Gov. Richard Yates

Springfield Ill

Dear Sir

We want you to write us immediately what day the fore part of October you will speak in our County, agreeable to your promise to us made at the Tremont House Chicago.

Upon Consultation it is thought best to have the meeting at this place, as we have the best of Accomodations and will draw a part of Beaureau & Henry Counties, and nearly all of Sec. Ogle. Carroll & Whiteside here, better than at any other point.

We want you to set the day, and let us know as soon as possible, as we have a county Fair here Commencing on the 22nd inst and it will be a good time to advertise the Meeting.

We want to read your letter to the people at the Fair, for they

have been promised a sight of you, and a speech from you so often by past meetings that they are getting incredulous.

Set your own time, and we pledge you one of the Most appreciative meetings you have had in the state.

Any suggestion you may make as to who shall be invited to speak with you, shall be Privately Kept and faithfully Carried out.

Dont fail us this time in any Event, for we assure your Governor that the People are anxious to see and hear Gov Yates.

Yours Very Respectfuly
