Govener of the State of Ills

Dear Sir

I wish to procure an appointment in the invalid Corps as Capt or first Lieut. I Have been in the Sevice 14 Months a part of the time as a private and part of the time as first Lieut On the 13th of March 1863 I was commissioned 1st Lieut of Co. B. 65th Reg Ills Vols and served until the 30th day of March 1863, at whitch time I resigned on account of my Health being in a very pore state, cased by disease contracted during our Campaign in Va. it is justly due me that I Should Have Said Appointment And therefore Aply directly to your Exelency, - By procureing me a command in Said Corps you will confer a great favor on one of your many friends, in Hope of your favor, I Have the Honer to be your
