We the undersigned being personally acquainted with Edward M Winslow Private of Co D 105th Ill Vol Infantry know him to be a man of good moral character of steady and industrious habits energetic brave and loyal

We would therefore cheerfully recomend him for any line office that the General Commanding may see fit to bestow upon him
