Hon Richard Yates. Gov of Ill. Dear Sir I, R. M. Miller of Co F 84 Ill. Regt of Infantry. Do ask that I may be transferred to Quincy Ill. as I am unfit for duty and have been since the thirty-first (31) of last Dec. the cause is a gunshot wound of right sholdier. and the probability is that I will not be fit for duty for the next six months as my wound is not heal'd. Rather than not go I am willing to pay my own transportation. My family is there and as I am not fit for duty I would like to be near them, and I would also receive better care. I can be

transferred by your order. I close hoping you will do me this one favor. Your humble servant R M Miller U.S.A Hospital 1st sec ward 7 Madison Ind Hon Richard Yates Gov of Ill
