Dear Sir
In accordance with your request I yesterday visited Hospital No 3 in New Albany, Saw Mr Letton & the Boys generally. Mr Letton is satisfied that he cannot pass the board of examination for discharge. In the case of Shadrick Pilcher, he was brought before the Board and examined for discharge but the Board refused to discharge him. This case satisfied several others that wished to be discharged that they could not pass the Board, so they have given it up. I have been trying to get all our Boys transfered to our own state but cannot get it done Yesterday an order came from the Sect. of War to send all the Wisconsin Soldiers in Hospl here to their own State. If Gov Yates would make a similar request perhaps our boys could get nearer their friends.
