Decatur 6 Nov 1863
To His Excellency Gov Yates
I would not trouble you with another hearing from me. were it not for your misapprehension of my letter where in I expressed myself so stupidly. I do not wish material aid. I am abundantly able to pay my own expenses. I wished your influence so that I could get the requisite passes to enable me to get to Chattanooga.
Thanking you very sincerely for your generous sympathy and your kind notice of my letter.
I remain Very Respect yours,
