I do not know but what. I am a stranger to you but you are very well acquainted with my Father he is Chaplain of the 2nd Illinois Cavalry I was with the same Regiment 16 months. Now if you can give me an appointment in Some Post Office or a Recruiting Comission I will be under lasting obligations to you
I understand there is to be a change made in the Cairo office and if you can give me an appointment there I will be very much obliged to you I have recommendations from the Post Quarter Master here one from S.P. Bennett P.M. at Pittsfield Pike Co Illinois and some others.
Please answer on receipt of this.
Respectfully Yours
