Gov Yates

Having learned you were in New York and would probably be in Washington before you returned I take the liberty to address you - I recd through Genl Fuller a copy of the letter from Provost Genl Fry in relation to the Cavalry Regiment which you had the kindness to ask permission for me to raise I exceedingly regret that the authority asked was not granted

If you can I wish you would give it some attention while in Washington, if it cant be done I would be under many obligations if you could get me a position in QMaster or commissary department

I should not have troubled you again, only I am in need of a situation Business is not so as I can make a living where I am and more over I would like to be in the service - do what you can if you please as I very much need assistance
