Governor Yates.

Sir.

I write this in behalf Sanford A Kingsberry Chaplain 17th Regt Ills. He desires the appointment of Chaplain U.S. Genl Hospital

Chaplain Kingsberry is near Sixty years of age, and his health does not permit his performing the duties of Chaplain in his Regt, yet he does not like to leave the service. He has been in Hospital and is at his time in charge of Contrabands on Prest Island.

If consistant, and you can aid him in any way, you will confer a favor upon a worthy man.

Very Respectfully

Your Obt Sert
