Yates, Springfield, Ill A sense of duty prompts to write to you regarding the transfer of the soldiers of the "Invalid Corps" Formaly belonging to Ill regt) Stationed at this place to some place in Ill where they will be nearer to their homes and famalies so they may be able to look after their comfort during the ensuing winter. Should it be in your power to aid us in getting transfered the soldier will [illegible] be thank- full to you for the fave bestowed upon them
