Mr Mc Coy Dear sir I take my pen to inform you that I have got my Discharge at last. I shall go home to day where I hope to gain my health again I feel under great obligations to you and Gov. Yates for your kindness to me in trying to have me go Home I thank you most cincerly

Mr Wm Mershon of Waterhouse Battery is the man that Gov. Yates instructed me, to try to get home, on furlough he was in Hospt. at Madison Ind 50 miles above here. Mershon is a good fellow, and ought to have been discharged long ago
