Dear Jervis

Two or three days ago I rec'd notice from 2d Nat: Bank - where I deposit - that your check had been returned from the Bk of Metropolis on acct of some irregularity in the signature and they want it as it appears in their book to conform with that which you left at yr bank.

I couldn't attend to it at the time but have sent word to send me the chk & I will return it to you for correction. I now go to Boston (Hotel Thorndike) for the next two weeks. Forgive my haste. I hope you are well Yours forever
