To his Excellency Richard Yates Governor of the State of Illinois
Sir being desierous of Joining the Army of Our Country I wish too obtain a Pass from you for two or more there are four of us that want to go two of them I am not certain of my self & one other I am we want too join the 38th, Regt, Ills, Vol, Co, B, Capt Tyner I learn that they are on the lines South of Murfreesboro Tenn. Now if you can send a Pass with a few instructions how to get there you will much oblige us
