Hon Sir My Object in droping you this note is to inform you it is becoming dangerous in this Section for a union man to express his sentaments the traitors are becoming so bolde here that they have even threatened to Burn some of my neighbors out for the crime of being loyal to thyer Country and opposing treason it is a common thing for them to gather together and cheere for Jef Davis and the Southern Confederacy they openly avow that they will resist they draft

- There can be a large company of loyal citizens made up here and if we do make up such a company for the protection of ourselves and our property and to help enforse thi the Laws will your Honor send us


arms to arme such a company Pleas keep this private as it would indanger my life and property by it becoming public
