To His Excellency Gov Yates

Sir

Having expended all (or nearly so) that I can possibly Spare And being Strongly Solicited to Visit the 32d Reg. Ills Vs at Memphis in order to furnish Some little necessaries for the comfort of the Soldiers and See Some that are sick who desire to have Some pecuniary matters arranged at home I feel it my duty to answer the call

And for to aid me I would respectfully Solicit a pass from Olney Ills to Memphis (via Cairo) My promise to do all for them I could is out and I feell it my duty to fulfill it to the letter


I raised a company for the 32 Ills Col Logan and went in as a private Served for a year and now I feel it my duty to all in my power to render them comfortable I have visited the 21st 38th 98th reg Ills Vs and still I wish to do more when required please Send me if consistent with your feeling a pass for myself & a friend
