govenor yates Dear Sir will you please do me one favor my husband is in the army he is in the hundred and sixteenth Regt he is in Capton Fobes Co he is sick and i am a fraid that he will die if he stays there he allways had a weak back ever since he was a young man he got his back hurt by lifting about three years ago he was for allmost a year that he could not get up of his chair when he was down you could have heard him scream with his back it hurt him so back you could have heard scream a hundred yards the doctor told him that


he could not stand hardships any more but he got better and so he thought that he could stand the war but he has been sick ever since he took the first March i received a letter from him the other day and he said that if he staid there he would die like thousands of others i am a poor woman and have three little children and a blind Mother to maintane now if you have any Mercy on any body i want you to have Mercy on me if my husband should die i would haft to sufer i want you to get him a discharge if you can think of your own family if you was in my fix if you will help me get a dischare for my husband


will be very thankful to you for your kindness i am a poor woman and i have no friends to help me do anything now will you be so kind has to help me it may be that i can do you some favor some time if i am poor and you rich My husband's name is Asa Kingsbury he is in Company I 116 Regt now for my childrens sake try and get my husband a discharge and oblige your humble servant

i would write and see whether you would try to get my husbands discharge will you please to write and let me no what you will do if i will send you a stamp so no more but remains your humble servant
