March 12 Dear sir, I thought I would rite you a line or to as my Brother rote for me to do so but I reckon his will do no good. I reckon he wants to no if you can do eny thing for him he is a privat in the 73 rigiment Ill volenteers and he is sick and Cripled in his back and he wants to come home I seen his Captain Sunday week and he said that he wanted to seend him home so if you will seend a Reckamendation he would seend him home he is only 17 years of age and [sall?] of his so if you can do eny for him I would be very glad as he is not fit for eny duty.

I shant rite eny more at presan if you do enything rite to me for I am going to see him he is in Co. C 73 rig Ill under Capt McNutt his name is Cloborn Madden rite to me at Georgetown Illinois from
