Hon Richard Yates

Dear Sir

I am labouring under a good many difficultys and I appeal to you for help in Time of need I am a poor man and have a large family to support I enlisted in this company on the 18th of August 1862 and have never been musterded in to the service through neglect of our officers I suppose and have not drawed a cent of Bounty Premium of monthly pay and my family is in a suffering condition at home and I have no way to help them


where I am and I want you to give me Transportation home to my family so as I can keep them from suffering. I have been in the Hospital nearly all of my Time and have not been fit for duty any of the Time and I am not at this time I would earnestly Pray you to do what you can for me and write soon and let me know what can be donefor me and Oblige yours
