Dear sir

After my Respects to you. I understand that there will be a draught in this state I thot if I could get the command of one of the Regt from this state I can go. I am a wounded volunteere of the 41st Ills vol Company (F). If you desire any refferance i can give you mens words on their deposition you can [kont?] me by applying to Col I.C. Pugh


Commander of the 41st Ill's vol now at Moscow Tenn. If you will please let me know by return mail and let me know if dischared soldier and he be a volenteere as there are a good many that want to know I was shot in the fort Dolenson Battle. I was shot in the mouth and I am crippled up with the Rheumatism and if you will oblige me by giveing me the commission as a Col or Lieut Col you will oblige me.


I feel that my country needs my assistance I am well driled as that can be seen [illegible] or knowen by refferance to my officers

If you will please let me know by return mail you will oblige me
