Lieutenant Governor F. A. Hoffman.

Dear Governor

If my official recommendation, that I have sent with C. H. Roland to the Governor may injure his prospects, I wish you substitute instead of that the one that I send you herewith. Do it, if it is possible & you will oblige me very much. Be well & remember me kindly. Tomorrow night I leave Chicago.
